Well.....its New Years The Friday night blog Party

The Friday night blog party on Thursday night, the year is already messed up!

I always ask myself why do we have to get a New Year every 12 months, what the hell was wrong with the old one?

Then it hits me, this is our chance to start all over and unscrew what we screwed up, unfix what we fixed, you get the idea and create more shit for us to do in the New Year.

I guess that is what you call job security!

We have a lot job security around here, there is fence to fix, a new arena to build and get the lights up in the barn. But most importantly we have the horses that we have to get ready for the show year and start shopping for next Christmas. There are after all, only 359 shopping days left, better hit the malls now.

We have made a lot of new friends from this blog and others and I hope that we will continue that trend.

I would also like thank everyone who has joined us on the website- Crescent Moon Cutting Horses in the Training Chronicles. Please be sure to sign the guest book. (I know, shameless self promotion, but it is my blog )

Anyway, what are your plans for the New Year, horsey and non horsey?

Happy New Year, JR!

Have a wonderful 2010!

My plans are to try and stay awake.
You'ze guys in the middle and on the left coast have an unfair advantage.

FV, is he STILL crapping there??
And why are their faces always REALLY cute/innocent, after they do it?

"Who could have done THAT!"
(happily watches his favourite human work).

My rump will probably be asleep at 9am. Have a busy weekend. Hubby has been holding off washing the dog that smells like vomit, I'm finally getting my iPhone! Yeah god!!!! (you know who you are). Going down to check out that ISH..Ummm...don't tell hubby but will probably ride him.

My bro and wife come down from chi-town at the end of month.

All I really want this year is my health back (I've given up on my sanity) so I can ride again and fit into my sexy clothes...yoga pants and t-shirt,

Glad I've met all of you and excited for our SD (or was it STD) ride! Also hoping to invade the Rotten ranch but afraid JR will kick my ass out b/c I'm tooooooo annoying in person

I will be back after my long soak in the tub.
It is cold out there/here.
And then I am going to be here with bells on.

All right. Just where the hell is everybody? Grreat party. I stayed home on New Year's eve and this is what I get to party with?

Note: For next year, I may as well just go out and get picked up by the local PD. It could be fun. J/K

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I plan to have a new horsey in 2010. Rosie is getting so lonely out here all by herself.

Non-horsey? Well, I don't know. It all depends. Taking that one day at a time. Probably trying to to get our house to look more like a home, rather than we just moved in look.

Does anyone actually stay up unto midnight anymore?

We used to party until 3 or 4 am on the New Year.

Happy New Year Everyone!!! It is going to be a GREAT one...
I have it on the very best authority that it will be one of the best yet!
I am watching movies with the little man.
Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian is coming up.
Must run the 4' dictator beckons.

No, JR. No one stays up til midnight anymore. The silly critters want fed too early in the morning for that nonsense!! Happy New Year to all!! Horsey-wise: Do more with them besides fed, water, clean, brush, comb, worm, trim, etc. Otherwise, dunno. Wait and see what comes. FIL is having the other hip replacement done mid-Jan....we will go from there.

Does noon the next day count? Lol

How about late afternoon the next day?

A very happy and prosperous New Year to everyone.

I am looking forward to it, I am going to make some changes to get my self back to where I used to be.

C3D,

That would be the SD ride, it can't be the STD ride as a certain person with slack morals will not be invited, ***coughfugscough***

Sorry, that was really bad of me, but I just couldn't help it.

Won't happen again!

CCC...love it! I enjoyed that laugh! weekend all discombobulated. Now going to see ISD on sun instead of sat

Happy New Year, JR, CutNJump and those adorable daughters!
Though I wish for a horse, I don't think it's in the cards this year, so I'll keep up with my weekly riding lessons. It's more realistic to see adding another dog to the family.

to 2010, everyone!

Alas, I waited until Friday to check for the party. I've been lurking for a while; the company here seems distinctly enjoyable, so I shall be brave and join the discussion, if I may.

With a new 3/4 Arabian (the other quarter is Labrador, I swear), it's probably a good place for me to lurk, and enjoy the educational, and no so educational conversations. For the New Year, my goal is to train both of us!

GoLightly said...

CCC, put down the Irish Mist, lass, you know it's...
Oh, never mind.
What the heck, it's Friday Now!!

snickering at the new bread, Labrador.
This I gotta hear.

C'mon, Jenn.
1/4 Lab, why?
Spill, please?
Is he rolly-polly, eats anything?
Loves water?
retrieves jolly balls?
Is he chocolate, yellow, black? All three?
Does he smell bad?
Does he get swimmers tail?? Hot spots? Is he kinda dumb?
<")
Oh, I crack myself up.

Okay, I don't even drink.
CCC is contagious.

CCC- reading that clarified it a bit for me. Having it read to me- well I thought you were speaking of another who is somewhat of an 'esteemed colleague' over there... If either shows up I doubt there's enough liquid libations to go around! Probably one of those occurances where it's not a great party unless the cops show up... Hey officer. I thought you said you didn't want to come back out here tonight?

Jenn- Welcome to the party! Contribute at will and please do. We all learn from questions and there's always things to share. It's quite the group and we are pretty well scattered- geographicly speaking. Quite a few of us have blogs, where you will find a wide array of information about a number of different topics.

Jenn...we love all breeds..bring them on. I love the loud colored grades..ask CNJ..I send her at least one ad a day.

Pics of the 1/4lab-3/4arab..we love all horsies!

Also love new blood..can't wait to hear more from you.

New year brings new horses for my "horse" family...will post all about them.

God Bless all of you!

CharlesCityCat said...

Welcome Jenn!

You will find JR to be very knowledgeable and helpful with just about everything.

We are a varied bunch with lots of different experiences and we love to share.

CNJ,

I did want to make sure to distinguish who I was talking about.

Jenn said...

GoLightly - Yes, he's roly-poly but has long legs, so it's not so obvious as it might be, very mouthy, must taste everything, steals hats, tries to steal gloves, grabbed my ponytail the other day at the arena and then decided to chew it (yuck!!!), licks my hands, the tack, the mounting block, and whatever else he can reach . . . ok, the list continues!

He wants to nibble on/taste the cats, corgis and chihuahua (token rat-dog). They are not appreciative. I think he also wants to come in the house, sit in my lap, definitely get 24/7 pats, hugs and scritches.

He hauls his food tubs and buckets around the pasture, throws them in the snow, splashs in the water tank, is thinking about trying to eat the garden hose.

After the grumpy, hot, not-so-bright OTQH mare, my new baby, Whoopy (yes, that's really his name, but after I got to know him, I decided it fit so he gets to keep it), must be something other than a horse. See Arabian Labrador here: http://www.rockingcorgiranch.blogspot.com/

Note to self - get new "puppy" a Jolly Ball. ;-)

GoLightly said...

Awwwwwwwwww! What a cutie patootie!
Sweet, honest face.

I wonder if it would ever be possible to have a "fly-ball" type competition with horses.
Ya know?
Using barrels as receptacles?
If nothing else, it would be funny:)
And maybe Whoopy (Hah, love the name) is trying to suggest the next Olympic discipline.
Mouthy horses would finally have a REAL job.
They were usually really smart BTW, in my day. Not like a Lab.
(ducking).

I know my FlipDog think JollyBalls are VeryImportantWork.

Okay, I have a question for JR. Could you look at Whooopy's picture, and tell me if that's normal for a western saddle pad?
I know nuthin' 'bout no western gear.

And will my sleep cycle ever go back to normal? I keep wanting to switch to left coast time.
weird.

chuckling again, at the thought of a horse named Whoopy.
Imagining calling him in from the field.
Boy, you could get your human neighbours stampeding...

Come, Whoopy, Come!!

snicker...

Thanks, Jenn!
CUTE Cardis!

JohnieRotten said...

Welcome to the Hood Jenn

GL
I am not sure what you are looking at on the pad but it looks normal to me.

windingwinds said...

Happy New Year JR & CNJ! and yes some of us do stay up all night...but then I do werk nocs.

Jenn said...

GL - Believe it or not, Whoopy was named for exactly what you're thinking, though the silly definition is what fits his personality. His dad, Zhane Grey, was gelded immediately following his arrival. The Whoop-ster's registered name is Zhane's Last Hurrah. By all accounts, Zhane is deliriously happy as a gelding because he now gets to play with other horses. He didn't like the life of the solitairy stud with the occasional girlfriend.

Hmmmm, fly-ball for horses . . . not sure I can visualize holding Whoopy back for his turn like they do with dogs . . . though I can see him jumping into my arms at the end of his run, and me in the traction set-up and plaster I'd need to survive the event afterwards! Think I'll stick with dog agility. ;-)

CCC you are a naughty girl....

SD is pretty awesome! I'm hoping I can join y'all.

CharlesCityCat said...

Thanks Catty, I do try, LOL!

Jenn, Whoopy sounds like an amazing cutie pie.

Um..Hey..Man with the rolled up newspaper!
What the Hell!?!
Dont'cha think you have left us all hanging long enough?
Write another thread already would ya!?!
This is prime learning time.
People rely on you!
GET ON IT ALREADY!!!
Sounds like you should be compiling a list of safe trail rider tips. Tips for hauling your horse longer distances. Tips for renting and/or riding a horse unfamiliar to you.
All sorts of things.
Otherwise, a person might get the idea that you spend a lot of time watching the sports channel in your underwear.
Bet I get the hose and the rolled up newspaper for this one.ROTFLMAO

Forget it JR. I am already running.
You would so never catch me.:)
